On this day in 1956, Elvis Presley performs first shows in Las Vegas at the New Frontier Hotel.

01-10-1957

On this day in 1957, the Dunes became the first hotel/casino in Nevada to offer a "topless" show, called Minsky's Follies.

12-24-1959

On this day in 1959, the topless revue Folies Bergere became a permanent show at the Tropicana.  It became one of the longest running shows in Las Vegas.

05-20-1964

On this day in 1964, the movie Viva Las Vegas starring Elvis Presley and Ann Margret was released.

08-20-1964

On this day in 1964, The Beatles performed live at the Las Vegas Convention Center.  Over 8000 fans attended.

12-31-1967

On this day in 1967, Evel Knievel unsuccessfully tried to jump 141 feet over the Las Vegas Caesars Palace water fountain.

04-15-1979

On this day in 1979, Liberace opens The Liberace Museum in Las Vegas, Nevada.
