I play the basic strategy 100% of the time. I have one question. Dealer has 7 + showing so I am assuming 17 or better. I have my original 2 cards, drew 2 more cards for a total of 16 . How far should I continue to draw? Many years ago, I busted on my 9th card.
You should continue to draw until basic strategy tells you to stand. Now, having said that, there are a few exceptions which are called “composition dependent plays”. The above cards include all these types of plays. Example: Basic strategy tells us to hit 16 versus Ten. However, if your 16 is a multi-card 16 or the result of a pair split you stand.
