| GENERAL INFORMATION | Reports of excellent penetration at some locations. Costa Rican blackjack is called “Rommy” and there are some differences. A natural is equal to a multiple-card 21 and naturals don’t receive any bonus. Rummy hands are paid off at odds ranging from 3:1 to 7:1. A player has rummy when the first 3 cards are of equal rank or are consecutive suited cards dealt in any order, such as 4-5-6 of hearts. A suited 6-7-8 pays pays 5:1 and a suited 7-7-7 pays 7:1. Busted rummies, such as 8-8-8, get 4:1. There is no hold card so European rules are in effect. Insurance is allowed on a dealer upcard of 10. You put up 1/10 of your bet and are paid off at 10:1. Regular insurance is also allowed. |
