The following historic events may not be blackjack related.  They are included here to provide a historic reference and to complete the timeline of other blackjack related events during the period.

On this day in 1956, Elvis Presley performs first shows in Las Vegas at the New Frontier Hotel.


On this day in 1957, the Dunes became the first hotel/casino in Nevada to offer a "topless" show, called Minsky's Follies.


On this day in 1959, the topless revue Folies Bergere became a permanent show at the Tropicana.  It became one of the longest running shows in Las Vegas.


On this day in 1964, the movie Viva Las Vegas starring Elvis Presley and Ann Margret was released.


On this day in 1964, The Beatles performed live at the Las Vegas Convention Center.  Over 8000 fans attended.


On this day in 1967, Evel Knievel unsuccessfully tried to jump 141 feet over the Las Vegas Caesars Palace water fountain.


On this day in 1979, Liberace opens The Liberace Museum in Las Vegas, Nevada.
