In order to shed some light on the latest online casino trends and patterns in this iconic gaming destination, it can certainly be helpful to cut through the noise and hear from expert sources in the industry. Thankfully, we recently had the chance to discuss New Jersey’s regulated online casino landscape with Alexander Korsager, Chief Gaming Officer and resident expert at the major casino review platform, Casino.org. With a decade of experience in this fast-moving entertainment industry, and an impressive breadth of knowledge about the world’s leading markets, it was interesting to hear from Alexander about what makes New Jersey’s iGaming landscape stand out today.

Thanks for joining us, Alexander. New Jersey is often described as the gold standard for regulated online casinos in the US today. Why does the state stand out, and what makes its iGaming market so unique?

Great to be here! I think New Jersey has earned a strong reputation as a leading iGaming destination amongst players in the US and around the world. This is largely because the state had a real head start compared to other parts of the country when it moved to regulate online casinos in 2013, and it’s had over a decade since then to build a very mature and competitive online casino market. Having worked in the iGaming space for a decade now, I’ve since witnessed the opening of new US markets such as those in Michigan and Pennsylvania, but it’s clear that New Jersey continues to stand out.

What really amazes me is the continued success and growth of the iGaming market in the state to this day. There’s a really remarkable number of high-quality online casinos available in New Jersey right now, and the landscape for players here just keeps on improving. There’s a real wealth of choices available to players in the region, which means we’re constantly working to review the latest sites over at Casino.org. The growth of the sector also shows no sign of slowing down – commercial casino gaming revenue in New Jersey hit a record total of $6.98 billion in 2025, which was an increase of 10.8% over the previous year.

As a keen player yourself, please can you talk us through the psychology and advanced strategies on display amongst players in New Jersey right now – do you think they behave differently from players in other markets?

Absolutely – as both a professional casino expert and a player in my own time, I’ve witnessed some fascinating changes to player psychology and strategies along the way. Through writing casino reviews over the years, I’ve also kept a close eye on what players are looking for – whether that’s the most exciting new blackjack variants, or the sites that offer the fastest payment processing speeds. I think players in New Jersey are certainly unique, particularly because of the maturity of the market, and its competitive nature.

Generally speaking, I think players in New Jersey are very well informed about the latest strategies and the latest trends on the market. Over at Casino.org we’ve noticed that they can be a little more selective, and they’re more likely to spend additional time comparing operators before they start playing. There’s also definitely a keen awareness of responsible gambling on display – all of this can be attributed to the fact that New Jersey’s market is now so well-established.

As a clear leader within the US iGaming industry today, New Jersey is also at the forefront of innovation and new trends within the sector. How are evolving online casino trends shaping the future of online casinos in New Jersey?

You’re right, I think the state absolutely sits at the forefront of the latest trends in the iGaming industry. As many blackjack fans will already be aware, we’re witnessing a massive uplift in the popularity of live dealer formats right now. Players are really gravitating towards those more immersive kinds of gameplay, as they’re looking to replicate the excitement of the brick-and-mortar casino floor, whilst still benefitting from the convenience and ease of online gaming platforms. Meanwhile, operators are working quickly to incorporate new technologies like AI, in the hopes of offering the best experiences.

When considering what this means for the future of online casinos in New Jersey, I personally think it’s a very exciting time. The possibilities really do feel endless right now, especially as these groundbreaking new technologies are having an impact and generating very immersive new formats. I think New Jersey is in a very strong position – thanks to its solid regulatory environment and experienced player base, people in the state are really going to be able to get the most out of these new opportunities.

Finally, what advice would you give to players who are navigating New Jersey’s online casino market in 2026? Do you have any tips and tricks for our readers?

Overall, I would encourage players to keep an open mind when it comes to trying new things. For example, there are plenty of games out there that blackjack fans might also enjoy, so it’s always worth exploring the enormous variety of options available in New Jersey today. We keep our guides regularly updated over at Casino.org in the hopes of supporting players with this, so it’s important to remember that there is plenty of support, guidance, and recommendations available!
